South Park season 10 premiere... pure gold

Holy fereakin' crap!  The new South Park is brilliant!  I honestly don't know what else to say for now, but holy hell, that was funny.

I figure you really must look out for a replay of this episode in the next week and watch it... maybe you can suck it out of the grand Interweb somehow, but I don't want to condone such things.  Maybe I'll come back in and blabber about it later.  Very nice.

ArchLord subscription model changes back to "normal"

I know there's a lot of ArchLord news from me right now and not much else... it's not a bias or anything. It just worked out that way this time. Today, I'm posting this because there's another story a few notches down that is now rendered irrelevant.

As I previously mentioned , Codemasters was trying out a "PlayPLUS" system for subscriptions, where players could decide how much to pay and they'd get more in-game goodies as they paid more cash. Apparently, during the beta phase testing, the community no likey that idea too much. In response to various feedback, the system will be switched to a more tradition model... pay $X per month for unlimited play. "The single monthly subscription will also include free credits for all players to redeem against in-game enhancements. All players will receive the same amount of credits as part of the single monthly subscription, providing a level playing field for all subscribers."

Well... so much for "innovative" and/or "revolutionary", I guess.

Time, she's a flier

Gah! Nearly October already?!? Holy poo. I'm waaaaay behind on a few things, eh? I know, I know... I've said that before. Well, there it is again.

Crud.

I'm painting my house. Is that worth any Excuse Points?? I'm freakin' tired and such. My hands aren't working very well for typing after scraping paint and old, cruddy caulk. Yada, yada.

...does any of that help? I hope so. I swear I'll get some posts up soon. Please have the patience with me and I'll get some stories online soon.

Thanks for dropping in.

WoW patch 1.12 live

Bah! Just when I decide to pull the plug (albeit admittedly temporary), Blizzard churns out their very, very cool looking world PvP goodies in the new 1.12 content patch for World of Warcraft. I don't know how you could possibly need me to give you a link there by now, but here's one anyway. I'll cleverly disguise it just to be a dork.

My druid is going dormant for a while

Well, I finally pulled the plug on my WoW druid.... (read more)

ArchLord payment system explained

Codemasters has announced their official payment method they've called both "innovative" and "revolutionary"... innovative is one thing, but revolutionary... well, we've seen a Revolution turn into a Wii before, which left us with some teenagers pretending they're surfing in their living room. (I hope the photo I saw is still there when you read this, or that statement will not make much sense at all.)

Orc ArcherOrc ArcherAaanyway, back to Codemasters and their upcoming game ArchLord. Their payment system is a multi-tiered experiment, where you get more of what you pay for and you can decide to pay as little as $9.99US (or €9.99 / £6.99, depending on which you prefer). Paying these fees gets you game time like usual, but additionally you will get in-game bonus "credits" for your account. "Credits will be redeemable against bonus in-game items and benefits, such as teleportation spells, health boosts and many other desirable enhancements," says their press release. Until the game gets going, it's hard to know how much value there is in the amount of credits doled out with your subscription, but the numbers look fairly large, especially if you choose to buy up to the larger time periods... oh, I'm going to just send you to their explanation of the PlayPLUS system .

That's all I have to say about that.

Server outages are teh suck

Something funky going on with the server this morning.  Sorry about the mess if things are reeeeeally slow or if the site goes down for a bit here...

Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar enters alpha phase

Busting out their big bad Alpha muscles, Turbine has powered The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar into the alpha phase of development.  Already, over 125,000 players are said to have registered to get in on the upcoming beta program, so I'm sure alpha news will make quite a lot of hearts go pitter-patter.  Speaking of the beta, if you haven't yet signed up, here's where you'd do it.

I honestly don't have anything else to say about this at the moment... maybe I'll go sign up for beta, too.  We can all go have a big signup party on their site.  Par-tay.
